Business Innovation & Investment

Australia

Program Overview

Australia's Business Innovation and Investment visa (subclass 188/888) is the primary pathway for entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners seeking to establish or develop a business in Australia, or to make a significant financial investment in the country. It is a two-stage programme: applicants first receive a temporary visa (subclass 188) and, after meeting the programme's business or investment requirements, transition to permanent residency (subclass 888).

Australia is the world's 13th largest economy and consistently ranks among the top destinations globally for quality of life, education, healthcare, and business environment. Sydney and Melbourne are recognised as leading Asia-Pacific business hubs, and Australia's proximity to and deep trade ties with Asia make it an attractive base for investors with regional interests.

The programme has several streams catering to different investor and entrepreneur profiles, from business owners with a proven track record to significant investors placing capital in complying investments. The Significant Investor Stream, requiring AUD 5 million, is particularly popular with high-net-worth individuals from China, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia who want a credible pathway to Australian PR and citizenship.
